Teacher grants
The mission of the Hyde Park Education Foundation is to provide financial support to individual schools and district-wide programs and activities that encourage and enhance the educational opportunities and well-being of the students of the Hyde Park Central School District. The HPEF supports and sponsors many different projects in our schools and community.
All Teacher Grant projects must be inspired/linked to a component or multiple components of the HPCSD Portrait of a Graduate: Confident Learner; Responsible Citizen; Critical Thinker; Adaptable Innovator; Effective Communicator.

We have donated hundreds of pounds of food to local families while utilizing our Community Liaison for HMS as well as the Hyde Park Food Pantry. Through the use of this grant we are able to ensure that students are effective communicators while participating in activities within the garden- this includes sharing ideas, making a plan, and safety.
Danielle Fried, Jamie Myers - Calm Space - Haviland Middle School
The grant money will go toward the development of a calm space in the building. This space would be available to students in all grades, and directly supports the DIstrict’s goal of supporting social and emotional well-being.
Jessica Beecher - The Posture Project: Band Chairs - VAS/North Park
Appropriate chairs are essential for effective musical instruction. The current chairs are folding chairs, many of which vary in height and level of cleanliness and disrepair. It is difficult for students to sit properly with their feet flat on the floor and their backs straight. Proper posture while playing a wind instrument is essential in learning how to produce beautiful sound quality, develop good breath support, and musical balance within an ensemble. This equipment is already used in the higher division music ensembles in the district.
Natalie Ellis - Multicultural Books for our Book Vending Machine - Violet Avenue
VAS has over 300+ students who come from a variety of cultures. I am requesting this project for books for our book vending machine that represent the cultural identity of our student population.
