This event brings locals and visitors together to celebrate the lives of our heroes. The field of flags, displayed at the FDR home here in Hyde Park, honors those individuals most important to our local citizens. These include: Active-duty military service members, Eagle Scouts, First Responders, Local Heroes, Veterans, and those who have gone before us.

Memorial Day activities include a parade, kid tent, main stage entertainment, and a closing ceremony to honor our deceased veterans. Proceeds from this event are used to fund our grants programs and other special projects.

Classroom Grants

By awarding grants to individual classroom teachers each year, we provide much-needed resources so schools may provide special programming, and enrich our students’ lives in new and exciting ways.

Free Movie Morning

Students of all ages are invited to enjoy a complimentary Saturday-morning showing of a current children’s movie at the Roosevelt Theater in Hyde Park, NY.
